
Government of Venezuela expresses gratitude to Vietnam's rescue team
Interim President of Venezuela Delcy Rodríguez presided over a ceremony, on the evening of July 3 (local time), to honor international rescue teams participating in search and rescue operations following the devastating twin earthquakes that struck the country on June 24.

The ceremony was attended by President of the National Assembly of Venezuela Jorge Rodríguez Gómez; Vice President for Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, and Secretary-General of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) Diosdado Cabello; members of the Cabinet; heads of international rescue teams; and ambassadors and consuls general of countries that had dispatched rescue teams to Venezuela.
At the ceremony, Interim President Delcy Rodríguez, National Assembly President Jorge Rodríguez Gómez, and Vice President Diosdado Cabello presented the "Hero of Venezuela" Medal to honor the bravery, technical expertise, courage and extraordinary efforts of foreign search and rescue forces in fighting to save lives and mitigating the aftermath of the natural disaster.
Within the framework of the event, Interim President Delcy Rodríguez took the time for a warm conversation, expressing her deep appreciation for the presence of the Vietnamese search and rescue team at the La Guaira epicenter.
Through Vietnamese Ambassador to Venezuela Vu Trung My, Interim President Delcy Rodríguez respectfully presented a letter of appreciation to General Secretary and State President To Lam. She emphasized that Vietnam's prompt and unconditional assistance during this critical emergency stands as a noble testament to the friendship and international solidarity between the two nations.
In particular, upon witnessing the performance and achievements of the Vietnamese force on the ground, Vice President Diosdado Cabello highly commended and praised them, affirming: "Vietnam's canine team is the best" in this international rescue campaign.
On this occasion, the Government of Venezuela also conferred the title "Canine Heroes of Venezuela" (Héroes Caninos de Venezuela) upon 36 service dogs from 12 countries.
