
Minister Luong Tam Quang receives Saudi Arabian Ambassador
Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang hosted a meeting with newly-accredited Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Vietnam Thamer Mohammed A. Algosaibi on the afternoon of May 13 in Hanoi.

Congratulating Ambassador Thamer Mohammed A. Algosaibi on beginning his diplomatic mission in Vietnam, Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed confidence that, with his profound knowledge and extensive experience across various fields, the Ambassador would have a successful tenure in the country.
Minister Luong Tam Quang noted that relations between Vietnam and Saudi Arabia have flourished in politics, diplomacy, economy, trade, investment, tourism and people-to-people exchanges, in recent years especially following Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visits to Saudi Arabia in 2023 and 2024.
On the foundation of the positive bilateral relationship, Minister Luong Tam Quang said, the bilateral cooperation in security and law enforcement serves as an important pillar in ties between the two countries.
In order to further promote substantive and in-depth Vietnam–Saudi Arabia cooperation, Minister Luong Tam Quang proposed that Saudi Arabia continue contributing positively to peace, stability and development in the Indo-Pacific region, strengthen cooperation in ensuring maritime and aviation security while supporting and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of Vietnamese citizens working and living legally in Saudi Arabia.
Regarding law enforcement cooperation, Minister Luong Tam Quang proposed that the Ministry of Public Security and the Saudi Ministry of Interior and relevant Saudi agencies continue expanding friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation in the fields of security, policing, law enforcement and criminal justice.
Accordingly, the Minister suggested that the two sides enhance exchanges of delegations at all levels to coordinate efforts in safeguarding national security and maintaining social order and safety in each country, while strengthening professional cooperation and information sharing, particularly information regarding regional and international developments, transnational crime, international terrorism, hi-tech crime, drug trafficking, money laundering and human trafficking.
The Minister also proposed establishing cooperation mechanisms in the fields of security industry, high technology and cybersecurity, coordinating in researching and developing specialized scientific and technological equipment, organizing training courses, workshops and thematic seminars of mutual interest and actively supporting and participating in initiatives, meetings and seminars hosted by either side.
For his part, Ambassador Thamer Mohammed A. Algosaibi expressed his honor at assuming his diplomatic post in Vietnam, and sincerely thanked Minister Luong Tam Quang for the warm reception and his open, substantive exchanges.
The Ambassador affirmed that he would make every effort to promote cooperation between the two sides in potential fields, particularly in security and public order cooperation; enable connections between competent agencies of the two countries in general and between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and Saudi law enforcement agencies in particular, contributing to the increasingly extensive, effective and substantive development of the bilateral relations in line with the common interests of the two nations.
