Minister Luong Tam Quang visits Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region
As part of his visit to China to attend the 2026 Global Public Security Cooperation Forum and the Inaugural Conference of the International Alliance Combating Telecom and Cyber Fraud, Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang led a high-level Ministry of Public Security (MPS) delegation to pay a visit to the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Secretary of the Party Committee of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Chen Xiaojiang hosted a reception for Minister Luong Tam Quang and the Vietnamese delegation.
At the meeting, Party Secretary Chen Xiaojiang warmly welcomed Minister Luong Tam Quang and the MPS delegation to Xinjiang, expressing high admiration for Viet Nam’s comprehensive socio-economic achievements. He commended the effective security and law enforcement cooperation between the two countries' public security ministries, particularly in preventing and combating transnational crime, drug-related offenses and high-tech crime.
The Xinjiang Party Secretary expressed his desire for the Xinjiang Public Security Bureau, MPS operational units and local Vietnamese police forces to strengthen information exchanges and professional sharing across all crime prevention efforts. He also proposed expanding cooperation in professional capacity building as well as cultural and sports exchanges.
For his part, Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed his sincere thank to Secretary Chen Xiaojiang for the warm and gracious reception accorded to the delegation.
He emphasized that, within the framework of overall bilateral ties, Viet Nam consistently prioritizes consolidating and expanding practical, friendly cooperation with Chinese localities, including Xinjiang, an area of strategic geo-economic importance serving as a vital gateway along the Eurasia Economic Corridor.
During his visit to Xinjiang, Minister Luong Tam Quang spoke highly of the major milestones achieved by the Party Committee, administration and people of Xinjiang in socio-economic development, social welfare, regional stability, and modern infrastructure expansion.
To further deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership between the two Parties and States in the new era, Minister Luong Tam Quang stressed the importance of boosting collaboration between Xinjiang and Vietnamese localities and enterprises across trade, transport, logistics and agriculture, while enhancing business connectivity and expanding two-way trade in goods and agricultural products.
Furthermore, Minister Luong Tam Quang proposed that Xinjiang law enforcement agencies strengthen coordination with MPS operational units to exchange intelligence regarding reactionary, terrorist and extremist activities, as well as drug trafficking, human trafficking, and cybercrime.
He also requested that Xinjiang authorities continue creating favorable conditions and guaranteeing security and safety for Vietnamese citizens living, studying, working or traveling legally in the autonomous region.
