MPS assists Nghe An province in rebuilding Tuong Duong Medical Center
The Ministry of Public Security (MPS), in coordination with the Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee, held an inauguration ceremony for the rebuilt main building of the Tuong Duong Medical Center on the morning of February 9 in Tuong Duong Commune.

The ceremony was attended by Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Pham The Tung; Deputy Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Nghe An Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Vo Thi Minh Sinh; and Vice Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee Thai Van Thanh.
The old Tuong Duong Medical Center was established in 2008. During the recent severe natural disasters, the center was heavily inundated by floodwaters and mud, and its facilities, medical equipment and office assets were badly damaged, no longer meeting the requirements for medical examination and treatment for the local population.
Against this backdrop, the MPS leadership had a policy to support the construction of the main building of the Tuong Duong Medical Center, with a view to consolidating and modernizing essential grassroots-level healthcare infrastructure to improve the quality of medical examination and healthcare services for local residents.
The new main building has three floors, with departments and functional rooms arranged at elevated positions to avoid flood.
After just more than three months, the project has been completed, meeting healthcare needs for more than 80,000 people of various ethnic groups in the area.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung expressed his hope that, following its inauguration, the Tuong Duong Medical Center would operate effectively, contributing to enhancing medical service capacity for people in western Nghe An province.
The Deputy Minister stressed that the MPS will continue to accompany and closely coordinate with authorities at all levels to support ethnic minority communities in mountainous and border areas, contributing to the effective implementation of the Party’s and State’s social welfare policies for a peaceful and happy life for the people.
On this occasion, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung also presented 1,000 gift packages from the MPS to people of various ethnic groups in Tuong Duong Commune.
