
MPS opens training course for Cambodian police dog handlers
The Mobile Police Command under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) of Vietnam held the opening ceremony of a short-term training course for police dog handlers from the Cambodian Ministry of the Interior on the afternoon of September 16, 2025.

The course will focus on the handling of police dogs specializing in detecting narcotics and explosives.
In 2025, the Minister of Public Security of Vietnam assigned the Mobile Police Command to organize the program for 32 Cambodian trainees.

Over the six-month course, participants will be equipped with essential knowledge and skills in managing, breeding, training and handling police dogs. The course includes 10 modules covering the topics of animal husbandry, veterinary practices and professional training techniques.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Commander of the Mobile Police Command Senior Colonel Do Tien Thuy stressed that the program rationally combined between theory and practice was developed in close coordination with relevant units of the two ministries, and delivered by experienced instructors.
He urged the Cambodian trainees to maintain discipline, overcome difficulties and actively engage in discussions to achieve the best outcomes.

Senior Colonel Do Tien Thuy expressed his hope that, after the course, the trainees would effectively apply their skills to their work, contributing to ensuring crime prevention and control, safeguarding national security in Cambodia, strengthening the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia in general and between the Vietnam’s MPS and the Ministry of the Interior of Cambodia in particular.
