MPS promotes cooperation with Azerbaijan’s partners

Welcoming Mr. Ali Naghiyev and his delegation to Vietnam, Minister Luong Tam Quang affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to strengthening security cooperation with Azerbaijan, especially after the two countries elevated their ties to a Strategic Partnership and the two ministries reached important agreements in May 2025 in Baku.

At the meeting, both sides agreed to strengthen political trust, draft orientations for long-term strategic cooperation, effectively implement the existing agreements and consider building new cooperation mechanisms and initiatives to meet the increasing need for cooperation of the two countries.

The two sides also consented to enhance cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and Azerbaijan’s law enforcement agencies so as to effectively realize the inked agreements.

Accordingly, the two sides will promote delegation exchanges at all levels, share information and experience and expand communication channels between relevant authorities of the two countries to exchange information and effort to prevent and combat transnational crime, terrorism, drug-related offenses, high-tech crime and human trafficking.

Furthermore, the two sides agreed to cooperate in training and capacity-building programs for law enforcement officers of the two countries.

Thanking the host for the meeting, Mr. Ali Naghiyev voiced his confidence that, with their shared commitment and effort, the two ministries will continue to expand their cooperation in depth, contributing to ensuring security, order and sustainable development in both nations, as well as to peace and stability in the region and the world.

Following the meeting, Minister Luong Tam Quang and Mr. Ali Naghiyev signed a Cooperation Agreement in the field of security between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the State Security Service of Azerbaijan.

Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized that, together with the Hanoi Convention, this bilateral agreement serves as an important legal foundation to facilitate the two sides’ coordination in information sharing, investigation and crime prevention as well as in safeguarding national security of each country.
