MPS reviews immigration management in Q3

The Department of Immigration under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a meeting to review the results of immigration management in the third quarter and the first nine months of 2025, on the morning of October 8, in Hanoi.

Over the past nine months, the Immigration Department has proactively and effectively implemented its assigned responsibilities and tasks in line with the directions of the MPS leadership, meeting the requirements for immigration management work in the reality.

During the meeting, delegates evaluated and analyzed the results of immigration management, as well as pointed out shortcomings and challenges and discussed key tasks for the fourth quarter of 2025.

Accordingly, in the coming period, the Immigration Department will strive to complete all objectives and assignments set out in its 2025 work plan. 

The Department will also review, propose amendments and supplements to legal documents to enhance the efficiency of managing and controlling the entry and exit of Vietnamese citizens and foreign nationals.

In addition, the Department will strengthen the management of foreign nationals to promptly detect and handle violations, while launching communication campaigns to guide foreign expats through to  the Level-2 Identified Assets app in line with administrative procedures.

The Immigration Department will also tighten the management of Vietnamese citizens’ entry and exit so as to control illegal entry and exit and promptly discover fraudulent networks and human smuggling rings from the grassroots level.

Furthermore, the Department will develop and refine the procedures for handling security and order incidents at border gates, proactively grasp the situation in localities, take comprehensive professional measures to prevent violations early and from afar, and strictly control of all immigration activities at border gates to deny bad subjects from entering or exiting the country.

Finally, the Department will enhance the application of information technology, upgrade technological infrastructure for immigration management, and promote international cooperation through bilateral and multilateral negotiations, conferences and external activities in the field of immigration management.
