
MPS reviews investigation and handling of major criminal cases
The Ministry of Public Security held a meeting to review the investigation and handling of major criminal cases and typical operational situations having been settled by the Criminal Police Force, on the afternoon of June 9, 2026.

Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security and Head of the MPS Criminal Investigation Authority Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long chaired the meeting.
At the meeting, representatives of the police departments of Dong Nai, Gia Lai and Quang Ninh presented summary reports on the investigation results of two major criminal cases and one typical operational situation.
They also pointed out strengths and shortcomings in the investigation and handling of these cases, focusing their discussions on how to receive, assess and handle information and situations, as well as on their current reporting mechanisms, leadership and command responsibilities, investigation and fugitive pursuit efforts, and the synchronous application of professional measures.

In addition, the participating units shared lessons learned from practical experience in conducting investigations and handling operational situations by their respective localities and units.
Representatives of professional departments under the Ministry also provided opinions and exchanged experiences aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of criminal investigations and specialized operations.
In his directive remarks, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long requested public security units and agencies to continue drawing lessons from the investigations of major cases.
The Deputy Minister also highlighted several specific issues requiring further attention, and urging public security units and agencies to systematically review, synthesize and draw lessons learned for application in the coming period.
