MPS strengthens coordination with State Audit Office

The State Audit Office of Viet Nam, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security and the Supreme People’s Procuracy of Viet Nam, organized a conference to sign coordination regulations with the two above-mentioned agencies on the afternoon of August 27, in Ha Noi.

Speaking at the conference, Auditor General Nguyen Huu Nghia emphasized that, in the new stage of national development, the leaders of the three agencies had agreed to continue renewing and strengthening information and document sharing, connecting databases, and promoting substantive and effective coordination.

Such coordination will be based on respect for the professional independence and objectivity of each agency and strict compliance with the laws.

At the conference, leaders of the three agencies signed two important documents: the Regulation on coordination between the Ministry of Public Security and the State Audit Office of Viet Nam in ensuring security, social order and safety and performing audit duties; and the Regulation on coordination between the Supreme People’s Procuracy of Viet Nam and the State Audit Office of Viet Nam.

The bilateral coordination regulations are intended to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of preventing, detecting and handling violations of the laws, corruption, wastefulness and misconduct; protecting public assets, public finances and the State budget; safeguarding national security and maintaining social order and safety; and improving the quality of each agency’s professional operations.

The signing of the coordination regulations marked an important milestone, demonstrating the determination of the Ministry of Public Security, the State Audit Office of Viet Nam and the Supreme People’s Procuracy of Viet Nam to further strengthen coordination and effectively perform their respective functions and duties.

The coordination regulations will contribute to preventing and combating crime and violations of the law; preventing and combating corruption, wastefulness and misconduct; protecting public assets, public finances and the State budget; maintaining security and order; and serving the cause of national construction and development.
