
People’s Public Security University of Technology and Logistics renamed as Academy of Security Technology and Industry
The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a ceremony to announce the Prime Minister’s Decision to rename the People’s Public Security University of Technology and Logistics as the Academy of Security Technology and Industry on the morning of November 10 in Bac Ninh province.

Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang chaired the ceremony.
The ceremony saw the presence of Members of the Party Central Committee: Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son and Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Thai.
At the ceremony, a representative of the Ministry of Education and Training announced the Prime Minister’s Decision to officially rename the People’s Public Security University of Technology and Logistics as the Academy of Security Technology and Industry.
In his speech, Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized that the transformation of the People’s Public Security University of Technology and Logistics into the Academy of Security Technology and Industry marks a historic milestone and a significant turning point, reflecting the vision and determination of the Party, the State, the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security to build the academy into a premier center for training, research and innovation in security science, technology and engineering, meeting the task requirements of the Public Security Forces in the new era.
Minister Luong Tam Quang underscored that, in the current context of rapid technological advancement and increasingly complex security challenges, it is vital for the Public Security Forces to swiftly establish a research and training center for security science, technology and industry that meets regional and international standards.
He instructed the academy to promptly draw up a comprehensive roadmap with appropriate goals, strategies, resources and outputs so as to become the “technological brain” of the Public Security Forces — a hub for research, experimentation and innovation capable of generating practical technological solutions to support the mission of safeguarding national security and ensuring social order and safety, contributing to augment the Public Security Forces’ capacity for forecasting, analysis, monitoring and response to both traditional and non-traditional security challenges.
The Minister also directed the academy to fundamentally modernize its teaching and learning approaches in accordance with the professional standards for all three-level apparatus of the Public Security Forces, while embracing digital transformation and international integration.
He urged the academy to develop a digital campus, early complete the development of its electronic learning systems, digital libraries and virtual laboratories, as well as deploy smart online education platforms that leverage data analytics to personalize and optimize teaching and learning processes, thereby building a forward-looking, technologically advanced institution worthy of its new name and mission.
