Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico hosts Minister Luong Tam Quang

Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Robert Fico received Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang, who is leading a high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam on an official visit to Slovakia at the invitation of Slovak Minister of Interior Matus Sutaj Estok, on September 29 in Bratislava.

Welcoming Minister Luong Tam Quang and the Vietnamese delegation to the country, Prime Minister Robert Fico congratulated Vietnam on its significant achievements across various fields, saying that Slovakia always considers Vietnam one of its most important partners in Southeast Asia and wishes to further deepen cooperation with Vietnam in all areas.

He also extended his heartfelt sympathy for Vietnam over recent storm-related damages, and expressed confidence that Vietnam will soon overcome the difficulties to continue its strong development.

Regarding future cooperation between the two sides, the Slovak Prime Minister proposed strengthening relations in the fields of economy, politics, people-to-people exchanges and law enforcement.

Minister Luong Tam Quang sincerely thanked Prime Minister Robert Fico for the meeting, and stated that Slovakia is always a traditional friend and an important partner of Vietnam in Central and Eastern Europe.

He highlighted that the two countries have maintained a longstanding friendship since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1950.

The Vietnamese Minister expressed thanks to Slovakia for its support during Vietnam’s struggle for national liberation and reunification, as well as its backing for the EU–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and ratification of the EU–Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).

Informing the host of the current political, socio-economic situation in Vietnam, Minister Luong Tam Quang noted that Vietnam is actively renewing leadership methods, building a rule-of-law state, improving institutions, promoting digital transformation, developing infrastructure and deepening international integration, making it become a stable, trustworthy and attractive destination for foreign investors, and striving for fast development and prosperity in an era of national rise .

He proposed that the two countries further promote high-level exchanges across all channels, including the Party, State, Government, National Assembly and people-to-people diplomacy, stressing that the Communist Party of Vietnam attaches great importance to enhancing friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation with Slovak political parties on the basis of trust, understanding and mutual respect.
