
Vietnam aiming to build safe, secure, modern and passenger-friendly airport system
The Immigration Department under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a meeting on the afternoon of September 25 in Hanoi to review the current situation and propose schemes to build a safe, secure, modern and passenger-friendly airport system in Vietnam.

Deputy Director of the Immigration Department Major General Nguyen Ba Tuan chaired the meeting.
The initiative aims to create the most favorable conditions for citizens, businesses and international visitors traveling by air to Vietnam.
The Immigration Department is responsible for dealing with entry and exit procedures for Vietnamese citizens and foreign nationals at international airports. Since March 1, 2025, it has also taken over aviation security responsibilities from the Ministry of Transport.
Through its in-depth research and analysis, the Department considers that the management and operation of airports, domestic and international airlines and aviation service providers play a decisive and direct role in immigration management, aviation security and public order at airports.

At the meeting, representatives from relevant agencies, units and businesses exchanged views and conducted a comprehensive assessment of security assurance, airport operation and passenger service quality.
They also proposed practical solutions and clarified the roles and responsibilities of each stakeholder in carrying out assigned tasks.
Delegates unanimously agreed that the shared goal is to develop an airport system in Vietnam that not only ensures absolute safety and security but also meets the world standards and offers fliers a civilized user-friendly travel experience.
Speaking at the meeting, Major General Nguyen Ba Tuan acknowledged the valuable opinions and ideas given by delegates at the meeting .
He affirmed that the Immigration Department will develop policies and approaches to better ensure order and security, improve aviation security and equi airports that are modern, and better meet the needs of passengers and enterprises in the future.
