In his opening remark, Colonel Nguyen Quang Chien underscored that the conference aimed to get ideas and advice from experts and scholars on the subject, which would then be summarized in a report and sent to leaders at various levels, helping them craft strategies, policies and solutions for transnational organized crime in the current context.
At the conference, delegates clarified theory on the task of preventing and combating transnational organized crime, assessed the crime situation in recent times, identified criminal methods and tactics, and analyzed shortcomings, root causes of crime and conditions for the emergence of this type of crime.

Furthermore, delegates discussed actual challenges in the prevention and combat of the kinds of crime, and provide comprehensive recommendations and approaches that could help enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the fight against transnational organized crime in the time ahead.
In his concluding remarks, Lieutenant General Tran Vi Dan affirmed that delegates at the conference thoroughly discussed and reached consensus on common theoretical and practical perceptions of the mission of preventing and combating transnational organized crime.
