Vietnam trying its best to prepare for 2023 APCCA
MPS - Deputy Minister of Public Security Major General Nguyen Van Long chaired a meeting on the morning of February 9, 2023, in Hanoi, with a number of agencies under the Ministry of Public Security, Hanoi Municipal Police Department and Quang Ninh Provincial Police Department to review the preparation for the organization of the 2023 Asian and Pacific Conference of Correctional Administrators (APCCA) in Vietnam.

The APCCA is an annual event with the participation of the Directors of Prison Administrations of countries in the Asia-Pacific region, starting in 1980.
Vietnam will be the host country of the APCCA in 2023.

The Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam is proud of hosting APCCA 2023, and its organization of the conference demonstrates Vietnam's determination to integrate and be proactive in the field of maintaining political security, social order and safety as well as controlling crime on one hand and re-educating inmates on the other hand.
The Police Department for Management of Prisons, Compulsory Education Centers and Reformatories under the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam takes the main responsibility for organizing the 2023 APCCA, committing that it will create most favorable conditions for member countries in the Asia-Pacific region to strengthen cooperation, exchange and sharing of experiences in management, education and rehabilitation of prisoners.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long hailed the effort of the Police Department for Management of Prisons, Compulsory Education Centers and Reformatories, and other relevant units in preparing the event.
He stressed that this is a very important conference organized by the Ministry of Public Security to promote the image and position of our country as well as the Public Security Forces for the participating countries.
Through the conference, delegates can learn about the Vietnamese police’s human treatment and honor of human rights of inmates while re-educating inmates.
