As MINUSCA is one of the UN's armed peacekeeping missions, this marks the first time the MPS has deployed its personnel to such an operation, reaffirming the peacekeeping capabilities of the Vietnamese Public Security Forces.
The deployment helps provide valuable insights and practical experience for the Public Security Forces of Vietnam, and laid a basis for the MPS to send its first Formed Police Unit to a UN peacekeeping mission in the future.

At the ceremony, a leader of the Department of Organization and Personnel announced the State President’s decisions on the deployment of six police officers to MINUSCA in the Central African Republic.
The officers are Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quyen Chinh, Lieutenant Colonel Bui Thi Hien, Major Pham Minh Dat, Major To Ngoc Anh, Captain Bui Thi Dang Ha (female officer) and Captain Bui Manh Tien.
Additionally, presidential decisions on the extension of service terms for officers of Working Group No. 3 currently serving at the UNISFA Mission in Abyei and Working Group No. 4 at UNMISS in the Republic of South Sudan were also announced at the event.

On behalf of the State President, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung presented the official deployment decision to members of Working Group No. 6 to undertake peacekeeping duties at MINUSCA.
Underscoring that MINUSCA is a newly assigned task and the first armed mission involving the participation of the Public Security Forces, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung requested that the to-be deployed officers should uphold their political steadfastness, exemplary conduct and strong sense of responsibility, effectively apply their expertise, knowledge and professional skills in practical operations and promptly grasp the local context to fulfill all assigned duties in close coordination with their peers and commanders at the mission.
The Deputy Minister noted that the officers should consistently maintain reporting mechanisms and strictly follow guidance from the MPS leadership, as well as strengthen unity and close collaboration with military officers from the Vietnam People’s Army working at MINUSCA.

He also encouraged them to proactively overcome difficulties and challenges posed by harsh weather conditions, disease outbreaks, political instability and latent security risks to successfully fulfill their missions.
Speaking on behalf of Working Group No. 6, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quyen Chinh expressed the great pride and honor of participating in the UN peacekeeping mission at MINUSCA.
He affirmed that all members of the working group would quickly adapt to local conditions, overcome all hardships and fulfill every assignment entrusted by the UN, contributing to successfully carrying out the political mission assigned by the Party, the State and MPS.
