Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang, Head of MPS Steering Committee 57, chaired the meeting.
In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long stated that, under the leadership of the Party and State, the Public Security Forces have initiated numerous policies and strategies to promote the application of science and technology to accelerate digital transformation while actively engaging in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, resulting in various significant achievements.

In fact, all leaders, officers and enlistees of public security units and agencies nationwide have clearly determined their pioneering role in national digital transformation.
Notably, MPS has successfully developed and put into operation the National Population Database and advised the Government to launch Project 06, laying a foundation for the establishment of the National Data Center and helping advance the country’s digital transformation.
At the meeting, delegates conducted an in-depth evaluation of the current situation and proposed several breakthrough approaches to accelerate science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation and the implementation of Project 06 in the time to come.

Major measures include expanding the application of the VNeID platform for socio-economic development and crime control, developing national cybersecurity standards and leveraging technology to duplicate the automated immigration arrival gate system at international airports.
Addressing the meeting, Minister Luong Tam Quang commended the entire Public Security Forces for their efforts in promoting science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation and Project 06 over the past time.
Discussing key orientations for the forces in the upcoming period, Minister Luong Tam Quang stressed that the entire Public Security Forces should be aware of the crucial role and great importance of developing science and technology, promoting innovation, digital transformation and implementing Project 06, effectively realize related action plans initiated by the ministry, and proactively carry out research projects to produce maximum values and breakthrough innovations.

According to the Minister, the Public Security Forces should contribute to national development from advising higher-level authorities on the implementation of Project 06 to developing digital products from the National Data Center.
Minister Luong Tam Quang suggested that public security units and agencies should focus on completing legal institutions to break through legal “bottlenecks” and obstacles in 2025 in order to advance science and technology, innovation and digital transformation.
