In the context of the ongoing Fourth Industrial Revolution and rapid digital transformation, the Son La Provincial Police Department considers the “Innovation, Digital Transformation and Digital Literacy” emulation movement not only as a timely initiative but also as an urgent task bearing profound socio-political significance.
The movement is for the entire Son La Police Force with the aim of improving local police officers’ digital capabilities, technological knowledge and proficiency in applying digital tools and data to their professional duties.

Through the program, the Son La Police Force also takes the lead in raising the public awareness of importance of digital technology, assisting citizens in accessing digital technologies, improving online public services, and firmly safeguarding cybersecurity and information security.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Director of the Son La Provincial Police Department Senior Colonel Tran Thanh Son underscored that the emulation movement is to realize the major policies of the Party, the State and the Ministry of Public Security in building regular, elite and modern Public Security Forces to meet their task requirements in the new situation.
The Deputy Director urged all subordinate units and officers of the Son La Provincial Police Department to foster a spirit of innovation and accelerate digital transformation across all areas of public security work.
He also requested the regular organization of comprehensive digital skills training courses for local police officers and enlistees, aiming to effectively realize the goals of the digital literacy movement and narrow the digital capacity gap among officers within the Son La Police Force.

As the targets have been set, by the end of 2026, 100% leaders, officers and enlistees within the Son La Provincial Police Department will be equipped with basic knowledge of digital transformation and digital skills according to the Digital Competency Framework of the Public Security Forces.
All local police officers will be capable of effectively utilizing digital platforms and services at work, and be prepared to assist citizens in accessing and using online public services provided by the Ministry of Public Security.
