The hosting of an UN training course in Vietnam is of great significance as it demonstrates Vietnam’s strong commitment to actively and effectively participating in the UN peacekeeping operations, contributing to enhancing Vietnam's position and prestige in the UN and among partner countries.

The training course lasts from October 28th to November 15th at the International Center of the People’s Security Academy.
The training course will consist of three topics regarding to the practical missions of the UN peacekeeping police force, namely public order management, building capacity of police forces, and supervision, instruction and counselling.

On behalf of the Standing Office UN Peacekeeping Operations of MPS, Deputy Chief of the Office Senior Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Tho thanked colleagues from the UN, international organizations and other countries for supporting the Vietnam’s MPS in peacekeeping operations over the past time.
The Deputy Chief of the Office underlined that, to maintain the UN peacekeeping forces in a stable and long-term manner, the training of UN peacekeeping trainers is a key task, and believed that with the close coordination between Vietnam and the UN in organizing the course and the great effort of all lecturers and trainees, the training course will be of great success.

On behalf of the UN Department of Peace Operations, the UN Police and the UN Integrated Training Service, Deputy Head of the training course Colonel Andrii Shevarikhin revealed that the training course aims to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the operation of peacekeeping police officers at UN peacekeeping missions in the world through in-depth pre-deployment training materials so that countries could organize high-quality and appropriate training courses for their police officers.
The training course also aims to build a group of trainers to participate in peacekeeping training in the world and help countries organize national-level similar training courses.
