At the two places, Vietnamese police doctors and nurses examined 600 local people.
Through the checkups, doctors and nurses found a number of patients, gave them medical counseling as well as prescribed and offered free medications to them.
They also advised local people on how to prevent and treat a number of common diseases, including: hypertension, diabetes, stomach-ache, cardiovascular, respiratory diseases, skin diseases, and offered them some rice, soy sauce, instant noodles and other necessaries.
According to leaders of the An Giang Provincial Police Department, the health checkup and gift-giving program aimed to help local people have good health and healthy lives as well as to strengthen the relationship of traditional solidarity and friendship between the two nations in general, and between the An Giang Provincial Police Department and authorities and people of the neighboring Cambodian province of Kandal.
