According to reports at the meeting, in the first six months of 2025, the Department of Immigration deployed synchronous measures to fulfill its key tasks in line with its approved work plans and the directives of the Politburo, the Government, the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Public Security leadership.
From the beginning of the year, the nationwide immigration force promptly assumed the new responsibilities of aviation security protection, and since then it has been implementing the new tasks without disruption or delay.
The Department also accelerated the application of information technology to its State management of immigration, effectively rolled out level-4 online public services nationwide with its extensive issuance of electronic visas, and deployed automated immigration control gates at five international airports meeting the demand for fast, accurate and modern border control.

Addressing the meeting, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung requested that the Department of Immigration take specific and assertive measures to renovate the management of foreigners in Vietnam, while strengthening the application of science and technology to its administration and professional operation.
The Deputy Minister also stressed that the Department enhance its leading role in providing professional guidance to local-level immigration units and coordinate the entire national immigration management system in preventing illegal entry and exit, managing the residency of foreigners and ensuring aviation security.
Finally, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung called on the immigration department leadership to attach importance to building a truly clean, strong, regular, elite and modern immigration force capable of meeting its task requirements in the new era.
