Lang Son police return lost belongings to foreign tourist

MPS - The police of Dong Dang town, Cao Loc district, Lang Son province have recently returned lost property to the rightful owner, an Italian citizen, helping him to promptly exit to China.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on December 11th, the Dong Dang Town Police Station received a report from an Italian citizen named Mario Collea (born in 1987) that he had forgotten his handbag on a bus while traveling from Hanoi to the Huu Nghi International Border Gate.

At the intersection in the Vuon Sai area of Dong Dang town, Mario Collea got off the bus and caught a motorbike taxi to the border gate. At that time, he discovered that he had lost his bag, which contained 5 million VND in cash, his passport and other important personal documents.

Mario Collea could not remember the license plate number nor the phone number of the driver. He was so worried because without his passport he could not exit to China as planned.

After receiving the report, the police of Dong Dang town promptly took a number of professional measures, including extracting security camera footages in the area to find the bus.

At 4:30 p.m. on the same day, the local police successfully found the bus and contacted the driver, asking him about the lost property. Luckily, the driver got it and passed it to the police.

Upon receiving his bag with all documents and cash, Mario Collea sincerely thanked the police of Dong Dang town for their responsibility and timely support, stating that the support of the Vietnamese police helped him complete the exit procedures as planned.

The police’s support for the Italian citizen has demonstrated the working efficiency and professionalism of the Lang Son police force while doing their tasks of ensuring safety and providing support to local residents and international visitors.
