Thanh Hoa Fire Police deployed to support people in flooded areas

MPS - Many officers and soldiers of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Fire Police have been mobilized to danger areas to solidify local dykes at risk of breaking and to evacuate people from flooded areas.

As the recent tropical depression directly landed Thanh Hoa, continuous heavy rains occurred during the last three days in the central province, causing floods in various areas and large damages to people and property.

On October 11th, many communes in Thuong Xuan, Lang Chanh districts were completely gulfed and many people were trapped in flooding.

From the early morning, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Fire Police held an emergency meeting to deploy rescue plans. Accordingly, additional forces and vehicles were mobilized to transport food and evacuate people from flooded areas.

 

 

At noon on October 11th, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Fire Police Force continued to move to Ngoc Phung commune, Thuong Xuan district to support local people. By this time, 95% of the households of hamlet 3 had been badly inundated and completely isolated from the ouside. Many young people had managed to move out.

 

 

However, elderly people, children and disabled people were still there struggling against the flooding in hunger and cold. The Provincial Fire Police force had to use canoes and motorboats to carry local people out of the flooded areas.

Mr. Do Trong Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Senior Colonel Le Van Cuu, Director of the Provincial Fire Police directed the rescue operation in Tho Xuan district.

 

 

Meanwhile, many hamlets of Anh Son commune, Tinh Gia district were also isolated by flooding. Police officers and soldiers of Department No.2, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Fire Police evacuated people and moved their property to safe places.
