
Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long works with Can Tho City Police Department
Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Head of Inspection Delegation No. 4 of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS), had a working session with the Can Tho City Police Department regarding its professional work in 2025, on the afternoon of November 14, 2025.

Since the beginning of 2025, the Can Tho City Police Force has taken synchronous and strong measures to execute its professional tasks, particularly the tasks of maintaining political security and social order and safety, and ensuring absolute security for major political, cultural and social events taking place in the city, denying all possible security incidents from arising.
At the working session, members of Inspection Delegation No. 4 said that the subordinate units of the Can Tho City Police Department had fundamentally fulfilled their functions and duties in accordance with regulations, contributing to effectively ensuring security and order in the locality.
Leaders of professional divisions and communal-level police stations under the Can Tho City Police Department also reported to Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long on remaining issues related to public security work entrusted to each unit.
Concluding the working session, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long commended the Can Tho City Police Force for their achievements over the past time.
The Deputy Minister requested the Can Tho City Police Department to thoroughly grasp and urgently address the shortcomings and limitations discussed by members of the inspection delegation.
He requested local police units to develop plans and roadmaps to overcome the existing shortcomings, saying that the local police should analyze the root causes of the problems and discuss appropriate and effective solutions.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long emphasized that Can Tho is a large area with various factors posing potential security complexities, so the Can Tho Police Force must thoroughly grasp the local situation and proactively take synchronous measures to prevent crimes and other violations of the law. He stressed that the city police department should give first and foremost priority to preventive measures while continuously strengthening the role and responsibility of grassroots-level police forces, and preventing the formation of criminal gangs or hotbeds of security.
