
Deputy Minister Pham The Tung receives German Ambassador
Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Pham The Tung had a meeting with Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Vietnam Helga Margarete Barth on the afternoon of April 24 in Hanoi.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung noted that the two countries celebrated the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations, in 2025, with a wide range of activities, including career fairs, vocational orientation programs, cultural festivals as well as the signing of a cooperation agreement between Bundesliga and the Vietnam Football Federation.
Regarding law enforcement cooperation, the Deputy Minister stated that relations between the Ministry of Public Security and German law enforcement agencies have achieved positive results across multiple areas, including exchanges of high-level messages, delegation exchanges and cooperation in crime prevention and control.
He emphasized that, based on the Vietnam-Germany Strategic Partnership, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam seeks to further strengthen cooperation with German counterparts to ensure stability and development in each country, while contributing to global security efforts.
Deputy Minister Pham The Tung proposed that the sides continue to promote exchanges at all levels to share information and experience in combating crime, and consider negotiating and signing agreements on extradition and transfer of sentenced persons so as to establish a solid legal foundation for the bilateral cooperation.
He also suggested that the two sides continue to create favorable conditions for citizens of one country to travel, reside, study and work legally in the other country, contributing to socio-economic development.
For her part, Ambassador Helga Margarete Barth expressed her satisfaction with the positive cooperation outcomes achieved in recent years and affirmed her commitment to further promoting bilateral cooperation between the two countries in general and between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and German law enforcement agencies in particular, in a more substantive, practical and effective manner.
