Dong Thap Provincial Police Department strengthens cooperation with Cambodian counterpart

Director of the Dong Thap Provincial Police Department Major General Lam Phuoc Nguyen and Commissioner of Prey Veng Provincial Police Department Lieutenant General Chhoeun Bunchhorn co-chaired the meeting.

According to reports presented at the meeting, in 2025, the police forces of the two provinces proactively coordinated to ensure absolute security and safety for the visits of delegations of one country to the other, actively exchanged information, and conducted numerous joint border patrols, thereby contributing to maintaining stability and security along the shared borderline and supporting socio-economic development in each locality.

At the meeting, both sides agreed to renew a cooperation plan to join efforts in ensuring security and order along the shared borderline in 2026.

Under the agreement, the two sides will further enhance information exchange, enahance coordination in crime prevention and control, strengthen joint patrols, and address security-related issues from the grassroots level. They will also intensify legal dissemination among communities living along the shared borderline to raise the local people’s awareness and vigilance against crime and law violations.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the police forces of the two provinces to further strengthen solidarity and friendship, contributing to fostering the traditional cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia.

It also laid a solid foundation for security and order along the shared border, effectively serving socio-economic development in the two provinces.
