Minister Luong Tam Quang reports 2025 crime prevention and law enforcement results at National Assembly

According to the Minister, in 2025 the global, regional and domestic situation continued witnessing rapid and complex developments, posing greater difficulties and challenges to the security and order protection mission.

In the face of potential complexities in domestic security, the Ministry of Public Security firmly grasped the situation and promptly proposed strategic recommendations to the Party, the State and local authorities, focusing on major security issues, such as safeguarding territorial sovereignty, protecting national interests and security, and ensuring absolute security and safety for major political events of the country.

Regarding its State management of security and order, Minister Luong Tam Quang noted that the ministry continued simplifying administrative procedures for residency, removing unnecessary paperwork causing inconvenience to the public. 

He added that, after assuming the responsibility for aviation security management, the ministry had issued a number of regulations to ensure consistency, continuity and efficiency.

Outlining key orientations for the security and order protection mission in 2026, Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized that the ministry would further enhance its capacity for weighing, analyzing and forecasting security developments in order to provide timely strategic recommendations on policies in protecting national sovereignty, sovereign rights, interests and security.

The ministry will carefully study and revise the system of legal documents to ensure that all related legal documents be cohesive, synchronic, well-organized and alignment with the reorganized structure of local police forces and investigative bodies at all levels.

The Minister also stated that the ministry will strengthen security and national defence in strategic areas of newly developed regions, while focusing on preventing and cutting down the rate of crime. 

It will strive to complete items of the National Data Center Project and the Government’s Project 06, and continue providing fully online public services.

In addition, the ministry will promote personnel restructuring in accordance with the set of standards for officers at the three-level public security organizational system with a priority of personnel given to units of the grassroots level. 

The ministry will also attach greater importance to accelerating scientific research and the application of technology to support all aspects of anti-crime effort.
