
Ministry of Public Security promotes cooperation with SICPA
Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Dang Hong Duc hosted Mr. Philippe Amon, Chairman and CEO of SICPA Group (Switzerland), on the afternoon of April 8, in Hanoi.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Dang Hong Duc expressed his gratification at the positive and comprehensive development of Vietnam–Switzerland relations over the past 55 years. He noted that bilateral cooperation in politics, trade, investment, culture, science-technology, education, and people-to-people exchanges has established a favorable foundation for both sides to further expand their partnership.
Discussing the country’s need to ensure security and order in the new era, particularly in the face of intertwined traditional and non-traditional security challenges, Deputy Minister Dang Hong Duc stated that Vietnam seeks to bolster international security industry cooperation, saying that this sector serves as a vital component of the country’s defense and security capabilities as well as an integral part of the national industry as it directly serves the mission of national security protection, social order maintenance and the control of crime and legal violations.
Regarding strategic orientations for the country’s security industry, Deputy Minister Dang Hong Duc informed his guest that the Ministry of Public Security is accelerating the implementation of the Politburo’s Resolution No. 12 on building truly clean, strong, regular, elite and modern People’s Public Security Forces. He also cited Resolution No. 57, which focuses on creating breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.
Therefore, the development of the security industry is identified as a key driver for the country to modernize equipment and enhance defense and security capabilities.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that the Ministry is particularly interested in promoting cooperation in security technologies, data authentication, traceability and solutions in support of the State management of security and order.
Currently, the Ministry is directing the Security Industry Department to execute core tasks that align with SICPA’s technological strengths.
For future cooperation between the two sides, Deputy Minister Dang Hong Duc proposed that SICPA continue to share its expertise and technological solutions in security, authentication, and other specialized fields with the Ministry’s professional units. This collaboration aims to open practical pathways for industrial development, meeting rigorous requirements for security, traceability, and brand protection.
Expressing his gratitude to the host for the reception, Mr. Philippe Amon acclaimed the Ministry of Public Security for its strategic vision for the development of the security industry. Highlighting SICPA’s long-standing presence in Vietnam, Mr. Amon said, the group is willing to be a long-term partner, sharing solutions in authentication, traceability and data security with Vietnam, assisting the local authorities in enhancing the effectiveness of security operations.
