The event was attended by Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung and Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee Trinh Xuan Truong.
At the ceremony, delegates heard the announcement of the Ministry of Public Security's decision to transfer the former Public Security Cultural School from the Department of Education and Training under the Ministry of Public Security to the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police Department, and reorganize it as Public Security Inter-level Boarding School No. 1.
The Ministry also announced the decision defining the school's functions, duties, powers and organizational structure.
Accordingly, Public Security Inter-level Boarding School No. 1 is an educational institution within Vietnam's national education system providing boarding education from primary through upper secondary levels.
The school is responsible for providing education, care and boarding services for children of the public security officers wounded or fallen in the line of duty, students from policy beneficiary families, students of ethnic minorities, disadvantaged students and other eligible beneficiaries in accordance with regulations.
Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung emphasized that the establishment of Public Security Inter-level Boarding School No. 1 is a concrete step in implementing the policy of the Public Security Central Party Committee to develop the system of Public Security inter-level boarding schools, thereby contributing to effectively implementing social welfare policies in conjunction with safeguarding national security and maintaining social order and safety.
The Deputy Minister requested the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police Department to promptly consolidate the school's organizational structure and ensure adequate facilities, teaching staff and all other necessary conditions for the school to commence effective operations in the 2026–2027 academic year.
He also called on the school's leadership, managers and teachers to uphold its 50-year tradition, foster a disciplined, humane and student-centered educational environment, and contribute to developing high-quality human resources for the cause of safeguarding national security and national development.
Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung further expressed his hope that local Party committees, authorities and relevant agencies would continue to closely coordinate with and create favorable conditions for the school so that it can gradually develop into a model inter-level boarding school of the Public Security Forces.
At the ceremony, delegates participated in the traditional school-opening ritual "First calligraphy stroke", planted commemorative trees and toured the school's facilities.
