
MPS builds homes for disaster-affected families in Ninh Binh
The Ministry of Public Security (MPS), in coordination with the Party Committee, the People’s Council, the People’s Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Binh province, held a groundbreaking ceremony to build houses for disadvantaged families affected by Typhoon No.10, on the morning of October 2, in Quy Nhat commune.

The event saw the presence of Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee Dang Xuan Phong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Pham Quang Ngoc, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Tran Anh Dung, and Deputy Chief of the MPS Office Major General Nguyen Hong Nguyen.

According to initial reports, powerful gusts on the night of September 28 and the morning of September 29 struck seven communes in Ninh Binh province, leaving nine people dead, 49 injured and 24 houses completely destroyed.
Sympathizing with the hard-hit local families, the MPS delegation visited and conveyed condolences from the Minister of Public Security to the families having lost their loved ones in the disaster, as well as extended empathy to the Party Committee, authorities and entire people of Ninh Binh.

Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Nguyen Hong Nguyen expressed deep sympathy for the losses of local people, hoping that the Party Committee, authorities and people of Ninh Binh province, particularly the affected households, will soon overcome difficulties and resume their normal lives.
For the families whose homes had been destroyed, the MPS and local authorities offered funding and assigned the Ninh Binh Provincial Police Department to coordinate with relevant agencies to assist them in building new homes.

He also requested the responsible agencies and contractors to guarantee the construction quality while the new homes should be convenient and suitable to local people’s customs and practices.
