
Vietnam Buddhist Sangha congratulates MPS on 80th founding anniversary of Public Security Forces
A delegation from the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Central Committee, led by Permanent Member of the Patronage Council and Permanent Vice President of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, visited and congratulated the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on the occasion of the 80th founding anniversary of the Public Security Forces, on the afternoon of August 13, in Hanoi.

On behalf of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Central Committee, Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu extended his congratulations to all public security officers and enlistees, affirming that the Public Security Forces stand as a steadfast pillar of the nation, always dedicated to safeguarding the peace and happiness of the people.
He acclaimed the remarkable achievements as well as silent sacrifices of the Public Security Forces, saying that the forces have not only played an important role in maintaining national security and public order, but also in promoting the country’s sustainable development over the past eight decades.
Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu expressed deep gratitude to the MPS for its continuous support and active coordination in helping the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha successfully organize major Buddhist events, such as the United Nations Day of Vesak celebrations and the display of Buddhist relics in Vietnam, contributing to promoting Vietnam as a peaceful, hospitable nation, and spreading the humanistic values of Vietnamese Buddhism internationally.

On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the leadership of the Ministry, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung extended sincere thanks and best regards to Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, the leadership of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and all Buddhist monks, nuns and followers across the country.
The Deputy Minister underscored that the MPS attached importance to its effective cooperation with the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in recent years, as demonstrated through joint efforts to encourage monks, nuns, and followers to live “a good life and a beautiful faith,” comply with the law, and assist the Public Security Forces in crime prevention and control.
He added that both sides have also cooperated in social welfare initiatives, supporting people in disaster-hit areas, as well as the poor and policy-beneficiary families.
Deputy Minister Pham The Tung expressed his belief that the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, with its prestige and position, will continue to go the Public Security Forces and actively mobilize monks, nuns, and followers to participate in the “All People Protecting National Security” movement, contributing to the safeguarding of national peace and the protection of the achievements of the country’s renovation process.
