
Vietnam Human Rights Journal marks 15th anniversary of its first issue
The Standing Office of the Government’s Steering Committee for Human Rights solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the publication of the first issue of the Vietnam Human Rights Journal (July 14, 2010-2025), on the afternoon of August 26, in Hanoi.

Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung, Deputy Head of the Government’s Steering Committee for Human Rights, chaired the ceremony.

The event also saw the presence of Deputy Minister of Ethnic and Religious Affairs Y Thong and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang.
As the official publication of the Government’s Steering Committee for Human Rights, since its first issue was published on July 14, 2010, the Vietnam Human Rights Journal has successfully carried out its mission of providing knowledge of human rights and promoting the image of Vietnam as an active and responsible member of the international community.

At the ceremony, delegates reviewed the 15-year journey of the journal, paid gratitude to generations of leaders, editorial staff collaborators of the Government’s Steering Committee for Human Rights as well as units inside and outside the Public Security Forces for their great contributions to the journal over the past 15 years.
Delegates also discussed orientations to further renovate the journal so that it can best adapt to the rapidly changing human rights landscape at home and abroad as well as to the strong transformation of the media ecosystem in the digital era.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang warmly congratulated the Vietnam Human Rights Journal on its achievements over the past 15 years, hailed its close coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in information dissemination, public communication and rebutting false information in the field of human rights.
On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee, the Ministry of Public Security and the Government’s Steering Committee for Human Rights, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung highlighted and applauded the accomplishments, dedication and development of the Vietnam Human Rights Journal throughout its 15-year history.
Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung emphasized that the Journal should adhere to its vital mission of safeguarding Vietnam’s image and amplifying Vietnam’s voice on human rights to the world.
He also requested the journal to step up modernization, accelerate the development of a bilingual electronic edition, expand its network of contributors and promptly reflect the country’s human rights progress as well as the Party’s new policies and the State’s legal frameworks.
