
Vietnam, Republic of Korea expand cooperation in fire prevention and firefighting
Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Ngoc Lam hosted a meeting with Commissioner of the National Fire Agency of the Republic of Korea Kim Seung-ryong on the morning of May 15 in Hanoi.

Welcoming Commissioner Kim Seung-ryong to Vietnam, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Lam expressed confidence that the visit would further promote the cooperative relationship between the Ministry of Public Security and the National Fire Agency of the Republic of Korea in a more substantive, effective and practical manner, contributing positively to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
At the meeting, the two head delegates highly appreciated the positive cooperation outcomes achieved by law enforcement agencies of both countries in recent years, while affirming the broad potential for cooperation in the fields of fire prevention, firefighting and rescue operations.
In that spirit, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding establishing a framework to promote cooperation in the areas of the legal system and state management of fire prevention, firefighting and rescue operations, enhance emergency response capacity, share experience in managing and operating command centers and training centers, strengthen cooperation in science and technology for the fire prevention, firefighting and rescue industry, and coordinate firefighting activities and humanitarian assistance as well as other areas of mutual interest.
The two sides agreed to assign focal units to develop specific cooperation plans, organize more exchange of delegations at all levels and conduct seminars, drills, training courses and specialized programs aimed at improving the capabilities of fire prevention, firefighting and rescue forces.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the National Fire Agency of the Republic of Korea marks an important milestone in the bilateral relationship between the two agencies, opening a new phase of cooperation and contributing significantly to enhancing the effectiveness of fire prevention, firefighting and rescue operations in each country for the safety of their people and the sustainable development of both nations.
