Following the establishment of the Lao People's Democratic Republic on December 2, 1975, the demand for qualified personnel for the Lao Public Security Forces became increasingly high.

In that circumstance, the Ministry of Home Affairs of Vietnam (now the Ministry of Public Security) issued a decision, on November 26, 1976, to establish the T12-75 school in Kim Trang village, Viet Lap commune, Tan Yen district, Bac Giang province with the aim of training personnel for the Lao Ministry of Public Security at all levels from the elementary education level to the university.

After six university-level courses, 534 Lao graduates from the T12-75 school became the core force of the Lao Public Security Forces, and many were later appointed to key leadership positions at the Ministry of Public Security of Laos.

Inheriting and promoting the tradition of fine cooperation between the two ministries, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam continue to assist the Lao Ministry of Public Security in training Lao personnel in short-term or long-term courses at a school equipped with various modern facilities and advanced, specialized curricula.

Concluding the meeting, Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed his hope that the T12-75 school alumni would team up with members of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association of the Vietnamese Public Security Forces to educate younger generations of both countries and improve their awareness of strengthening the strong bonds and glorious traditions shared by the two countries’ Public Security Forces, contributing to further strengthening the great solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.
