Since 2022, MPS has sent four groups of police officers as UN peacekeepers to UNMISS and UNISFA, and one Vietnamese police officer to the Police Division of the UN Department of Peace Operations.

MPS is currently completing procedures to seek the higher level authority for the deployment of police officers to the MINUSCA Mission in the Central African Republic in 2025.
In addition to the deployment of individual officers, MPS has made all preparations for the deployment of a fully staffed police unit to participate in UN peacekeeping operations upon requests from the UN, in line with the Politburo’s policy.
At the ceremony, under the authority of the President, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung handed over the President’s decisions to three officers of the fifth dispatch who will undertake peacekeeping duties at UNMISS.

The three officers are Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Doan, Dean of a faculty at the People's Public Security Academy of Politics; Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Nam, deputy dean of a faculty at the People's Security Academy, and Captain Tran My Linh from the Nam Dinh Provincial Police Department.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung congratulated the three police officers on their new deployment to UNMISS.
The Deputy Minister underlined that the fifth deployment of police officers to UNMISS reaffirms the strong commitment of the Government of Vietnam in general and MPS in particular to joining UN efforts to keep peace, contributing to preventing conflict from flaring up and ensuring sustainable peace and security worldwide.

Deputy Minister Pham The Tung requested the three officers to uphold their political will, maintain solidarity and sense of responsibility and utilize their professional expertise, working experience and skills to excellently fulfill their assigned duties.
He also underlined the need to collaborate closely with Vietnamese military officers, and ensure their own safety and security while doing their duties at UNMISS.
