Reporting on the work results in 2023 and key tasks in 2024 of Steering Committee 138/CP, Member of Steering Committee 138/CP and Chief of Office of the Ministry of Public Security Major General Dang Hong Duc stated, in 2023, ministries, branches, professional and social organizations and localities seriously implemented resolutions, directives and plans of the Party, National Assembly, Government and Steering Committee 138/CP on anti-crime, and proactively advised the Party and Government on orientations to address arising crime situations in localities and the country as a whole.
Further, Steering Committee 138/CP directed competent forces and localities to drastically fight emerging crimes, especially fraud and appropriation of property in cyberspace, organized crimes under the cover of businesses and crimes related to regislation of road and waterway motor vehicles.

Meanwhile, the competent agencies under the leadership of Steering Committee 138/CP stepped up the progress of investigation of cases under the supervison of the Central Steering Committee on Prevention and Combat of Corruption and Negatives; as a result, a number of major cases of public concern were brought to trial.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc affirmed that, with the great effort and a high sense of responsibility of competent agencies, the crime situation in the country was controlled, the number of both criminal activities and complicated law violations tended to reduce.

Regarding major tasks in the time to come, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc proposed ministries, branches and localities to closely follow and seriously implement the Politburo, the Party Central Committee and Government's directions on crime prevention and control, such as Directive No. 48-CT/TW promulgated on October 22, 2010 by the Politburo, Directive No. 36-CT/TW issued on August 16, 2019 by the Politburo.
Concluding the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang hailed the results of controlling crime, as well as countering smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in 2023.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang requested ministries, branches and localities to advise higher-level authorities to issue mechanisms and policies to complete a full legal framework for the work of controlling crime, countering smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.
