At the talks, the two sides carefully reviewed and evaluated bilateral security and order cooperation between the two police agencies over the past time.
In 2024, the two sides regularly exchanged information via their hotline to verify and hand over the citizens of one country who had illegally entered or exited the other country, as well as informed each other of the security and order situation in each locality.

The two police agencies also advised competent authorities of the two countries to upgrade the A Pa Chai–Long Phu trail into a bilateral border checkpoint, aiming to create new momentum for local socio-economic development.
Over the past time, the Dien Bien police have verified and received 42 citizens who had illegally entered China and were repatriated by the Chinese side. They also discovered 997 drug-related cases involving 1,152 suspects, seizing 47 kg of heroin and 45 kg of synthetic drugs.
To maintain border security as well as social order and safety in localities along the shared borderline, the two sides proposed to expand bilateral cooperation in the coming time, focusing on the fields of mutual concern, such as prevention and control of transnational crime, terrorism, cybercrime, human trafficking and illegal entry and exit.
After reaching consensus on future cooperation, the two sides signed the 13th Memorandum of Understanding between the Dien Bien Provincial Police Department and the Pu’er Public Security Bureau on bilateral cooperation in ensuring security and order in the border areas of the two countries.
