The meeting was within the framework of his visit to Laos as a member of a high-ranking delegation led by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attending the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits and Related Summits hosted by Lao PDR.

Speaking at the meeting, Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Security Vilay Lakhamphong highly appreciated the cooperation between the two countries in general and the two Public Security Ministries in particular, highlighting the support of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam for its Lao counterpart in implementing key projects and organizing political education programs for the Lao Public Security Forces over the past time.
The host proposed that the two Ministries of Public Security continue to promote comprehensive cooperation in all work fields, helping the Public Security Forces of the two countries to meet the task requirements in the new situation and bring benefits to the two peoples.

Sincerely thanking the host for the warm welcome, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To underlined that, after the success of the recent 18th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime taking place in Laos, the two ministries cooperated effectively in organizing training and capacity-building programs for police officers as well as preparing human resources for the implementation of the key projects.
The guest affirmed that, over the past time, the traditional friendship between the two countries and the two ministries has been continuously tightened, while their bilateral cooperation has been expanded and brought to a higher level, contributing to peaceful, security and development in the region and the world.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To highly appreciated the achievements of the school since its establishment a year ago.
In the increasingly complicated global and regional situation, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To stressed that the two countries’ public security forces should strive to have not only good knowledge of laws and proficient professional expertise, but also right and strategic political thinking as well as a strong political will to meet their task requirements in the new situation.
