The workshop brought together over 100 delegates, including representatives from the embassies of the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Canada and Japan, international organizations such as UN Women, UNESCO, UNICEF, UNFPA and UNODC, relevant units of the Ministry of Public Security, as well as students from various academies and universities in Hanoi.

During the workshop, domestic and international experts shared their insights on various issues, such as school violence, online child abuse and gender-based violence in cyberspace.
They also discussed the implementation of the initiative “Enhancing awareness and capacity for women and girls in responding to challenges in cyberspace” under the Vietnam’s National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security.

At the workshop, delegates highly agreed that ensuring the rights of women and children in cyberspace is an urgent issue that requires increased accountability of technology and digital platforms.

Through discussions, delegates also stressed the need to narrow down the gender digital divide, equip women and girls with essential technological knowledge and skills, ensure the availability of victim-centered support mechanisms, and promote actions to eliminate harmful gender stereotypes, contributing to the empowerment of women and girls to participate fully, equally and safely in the digital realm.
