December, 06 2022
MPS - The Kien Giang Provincial Police Department recently held a conference to review results of the implementation of the coordination deal on maintaining border security and order between the Kien Giang Provincial Police Department and the police units in the three Cambodian provinces of Kampot, Kep and Preah Sihanouk, which share border with Kien Giang.

Conference overview.

In implementing the coordination deal for more than a year, police forces in the border provinces of the two countries strengthened solidarity and friendship, exchanged information, and joint efforts in dealing with relevant cases in a timely and effective manner.

The Kien Giang Provincial Police Department and the police units of the three provinces also teamed up to fight plots and activities by hostile forces who try to sabotage the traditional friendly relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia.

Director of Kien Giang Provincial Police Department Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Han speaks at the conference.

On the basis of the achieved results, the Kien Giang Provincial Police Department and the Cambodian counterparts agreed to continue to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on maintaining security and border in 2023 in order to enhance information exchange and coordination in handling cases related to security and order on the shared border.

The police forces of the two sides should also strengthen the law dissemination and education for people living on both sides of the shared border so that they can voluntarily comply with border regulations and support police forces in ensuring security and order along the border.
