Reports at the meeting read that the Department of Foreign Relations has taken synchronous measures to promote bilateral and multilateral security and police cooperation with various partners around the world over the past year, contributing to enhancing the position and prestige of the Vietnamese Public Security Forces on the international arena.
Notably, the department advised the Public Security Central Party Committee and MPS leaders to establish cooperation mechanisms between MPS and its counterparts from other countries and relevant international organizations, effectively carried out high-level delegation exchanges as well as strengthened cooperation and relations between MPS and law enforcement agencies of other countries.
In addition, the department also advised MPS leaders to participate in international agreements and treaties, creating a legal basis for cooperation activities with law enforcement agencies from other countries in various fields, contributing to strengthening strategic trust and promoting cooperation between Vietnam and other countries in crime prevention and law enforcement.

Addressing the meeting, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and MPS leaders, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung acknowledged and praised the Department of Foreign Relations for their excellent achievements in 2024.
Agreeing with the key tasks outlined in the 2025 work plan of the Department of Foreign Relations, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung requested that all public security officers and enlistees in charge of foreign affairs from public security units and agencies should thoroughly grasp the Prime Minister's directions at the 80th National Public Security Conference requiring that the foreign affairs sector of the Public Security Forces’ should bring into full play its pioneering role so as to protect national security early and from afar and to effectively implement security cooperation mechanisms with other countries, contributing to enhancing political trust, expanding cooperation and relations with other countries, and increasing Vietnam's contributions to maintaining peace and stability in the region and the world.

The Deputy Minister also requested that the Department of Foreign Relations should continue effectively implementing the three pillars of foreign affairs, including Party diplomacy, State diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy, to promote political trust between Vietnam and other countries, especially major countries and neighboring countries, contributing to forming common positions on issues in international relations.
Finally, the Deputy Minister asked the department to improve the quality of its advisory work, saying that it should give higher-level authorities advice on foreign affairs in a proactive, timely, accurate, and effective manner.
