In 2024, the Department of Information and Communications under MPS performed its tasks while closely following the guidelines and orientations of the Party, the State, the Public Security Central Party Committee, MPS as well as the practical work of ensuring security and order. As a result, the department led the public security information and communications sector to overcome all difficulties and reach all set targets in its 2024 work plan.

Over the past year, the sector has intensively disseminated the Party’s guidelines and the State's policies and laws, promptly informed activities of the Party and State leaders and MPS, as well as fully covered all directives and major policies issued by the Public Security Central Party Committee and MPS.
In addition, the sector widely spread the excellent work results of public security units and agencies, their victories in preventing and combating crime, as well as typical examples of good people and good deeds.

Regarding its key tasks in 2025, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To requested that the Department of Information and Communications should thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the instructions of the Minister of Public Security at the 80th National Public Security Conference, while actively advising the Public Security Central Party Committee and MPS leaders on more efficient management of the press, publishing and film industry, in accordance with the practical situation.
The Deputy Minister urged the department to lead the entire sector to further renovate the content and methods of information dissemination and maintain close coordination with press agencies outside the Public Security Forces to effectively perform its functions and tasks.
The Deputy Minister finally required the department to further pay attention to Party building and the building of the Public Security Forces, while speeding up the digital transformation process in accordance with the directives of the Party Central Committee and the Government’s National Digital Transformation Strategy.
