Deputy Minister Pham The Tung praises police units for dismantling illegal drug trafficking network in cyberspace

Over the past time, the Department of Cybersecurity and Hi-tech Crimes under the Ministry of Public Security in coordination with the Quang Nam Provincial Police Department took synchronous professional measures to discover and dismantle an illegal drug trafficking band in cyberspace, illegally pocketing more than 30 billion VND.

By now, the police have arrested 6 suspects and seized more than 40kg of dried cannabis, 7.5 billion VND in cash and many other exhibits.

The elimination of the criminal group is an outstanding achievement of the involved police units, demonstrating their sharp professional expertise and high sense of responsibility in implementing directions of the Public Security Party Central Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security on preventing and combating drug-related crime and high-tech crime.

The success in clearing the case also reflected the close and effective coordination among involved under-ministerial police departments and police departments of localities, contributing to deterring criminals, preventing crime and strengthening people’s trust in the Public Security Forces.

On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung praised the involved police units for their victory.

The Deputy Minister required the Department of Cybersecurity and Hi-tech Crimes to coordinate with the Quang Nam Provincial Police Department to expand the investigation of the case and early complete documentations so as to bring all the involved to court in line with the laws.
