MPS discusses draft of national general strategy on countering non-traditional security threats

MPS - The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) organized a national scientific conference on building a national strategy to prevent and respond to non-traditional security threats by 2030, with a vision toward 2045, on the morning of November 7th, in Hanoi.

Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung chaired the conference.

At the conference, delegates deeply analyzed and clarified several issues in the draft of the non-traditional security strategy, in-depth discussing theoretical arguments on non-traditional security and the practice of preventing and responding to non-traditional security threats in Vietnam as well as evaluating results of Vietnam’s international cooperation in preventing and responding to non-traditional security threats and future cooperation prospects.

Concluding the conference, on behalf of the Public Security Party Central Committee and leaders of MPS, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung thanked delegates for their constructive opinions and ideas, saying that they made significant contributions to the drafting of the non-traditional security strategy.

To complete such a large amount of work in the coming time, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung requested the Department of Public Security History, Science and Strategy to take all the ideas and recommendations given at the meeting into consideration while working on the third draft of the strategy.

After that, the third draft will be sent to ministries, branches and localities for comments, and readjusted before being submitted to the Public Security Central Party Committee for further review.
