NA passes amended Law on Human Trafficking Prevention and Control

MPS - On November 28th, the National Assembly (NA) officially passed the amended Law on Human Trafficking Prevention and Control with 454 out of 455 deputies voting in favour, accounting for 94.78% of the total number of NA deputies.


The newly passed law has 8 chapters and 63 articles, stipulating regulations on prevention, detection, and handling of human trafficking offenses as well as the information verification, identification and reception of victims as well as support and protection to victims of human trafficking.

It also specifies the tasks in the state management of human trafficking prevention and control, the roles and responsibilities of government agencies, organizations, families and individuals in the prevention and combat of human trafficking as well as international cooperation in preventing and combating human trafficking.

The newly-passed law will come into force on July 1st, 2025.

Before the vote, Chairwoman of the NA’s Committee for Judicial Affairs Le Thi Nga presented a report explaining revisions to the draft amended Law on Human Trafficking Prevention and Control.

After hearing the report of the NA’s Committee for Judicial Affairs, under the chairmanship of NA’s Vice Chairman Nguyen Khac Dinh, NA deputies conducted a vote on the amended Law on Human Trafficking Prevention and Control.

The electronic voting results showed that 454 out of 455 NA deputies participating in the vote were in favor of the amended Law on Human Trafficking Prevention and Control, accounting for 94.78% of the total number of NA deputies, so the NA has officially passed the amended Law on Human Trafficking Prevention and Control.
