State-level final rehearsal for grand ceremony commemorating 50th anniversary of Liberation of the South and National Reunification takes place

MPS - The Central Steering Committee for the Commemoration of Major National Holidays and Historical Events in the 2023–2025 period held the final full-dress drill for the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – 2025) on the morning of April 27, 2025.

Member of the Politburo and Permanent Member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat Tran Cam Tu, Head of the Central Steering Committee, chaired the rehearsal.

The event was also attended by numerous high-ranking officials, including Member of the Politburo and Head of the Central Commission for Communication, Education and Mass Mobilization Nguyen Trong Nghia; Member of the Politburo and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen; Member of the Politburo and Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang; Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh; Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To; Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Pham The Tung, among others.

The rehearsal program featured an aerial salute by the Air Force of the Vietnam People's Army, a drum performance titled “Epic of Complete Victory”, artistic formation displays under the theme “The Country’s Complete Joy”, performances by artists from Ho Chi Minh City, an official State ceremony; and a grand parade and procession.

Leading the parade was the ceremonial vehicle procession with vehicles carrying the National Emblem of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, a portrait of President Ho Chi Minh and symbols of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

The State-level marching drill involved 38 military, militia and police marching formations, alongside 12 civilian marching formations.

Additionally, three marching columns from the armed forces of China, Laos and Cambodia also participated in the parade.

At the conclusion of the rehearsal, members of the Central Steering Committee visited, encouraged and presented gifts to the participating formations.
