Academy of Security Engineering and Technology visits Japanese partners

As part of the visit, on July 15, 2026, the delegation held a working session with the leadership of the University of Tsukuba to exchange information, explore each institution's strengths, and discuss strategic directions for cooperation in science, technology, innovation and high-quality human resource development.

During the meeting, both sides shared experiences in building modern research environments, cultivating high-quality personnel, promoting innovation, and strengthening linkages between academic institutions, research institutes, and enterprises.

They also discussed high-potential areas for collaboration, including artificial intelligence (AI), data science, high-performance computing, cybersecurity, digital transformation, modern laboratory development, academic exchanges, and joint exchanges of faculty members, researchers and students. Furthermore, the two sides explored co-hosting international scientific conferences and conducting joint research projects in the near future.

Major General Le Minh Thao expressed his desire to establish formal cooperative ties with the University of Tsukuba by leveraging the unique strengths of each institution, aiming toward structured programs in education, scientific research, and technological development.

In response, representatives of the University of Tsukuba leadership expressed keen interest in ASET's proposed initiatives. Both sides agreed to maintain regular communication and foster closer ties between their specialized units to evaluate and implement cooperation projects tailored to their respective needs and capabilities.

The working session opened up promising prospects for establishing a partnership between ASET and the University of Tsukuba in science, technology, and higher education. It serves as an important milestone for both sides to continue dialogue and research suitable areas of collaboration toward building an effective, practical, and sustainable relationship.

During their stay, the ASET delegation also visited the University of Tsukuba’s Supercomputing Center and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Center. At a meeting between the two sides, the delegation was briefed on the university's high-performance computing infrastructure, AI research and application platforms, laboratory organizational and operational models, as well as flagship research projects currently underway at the university.
