Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung receives Honorary Consul of Viet Nam in Brazil

Welcoming the Honorary Consul on her visit to Viet Nam and her attendance at the 2nd Conference of Honorary Consuls organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung noted that cooperation between Viet Nam and Brazil in general, and between the Ministry of Public Security of Viet Nam and Brazilian law enforcement agencies in particular, continues to be strengthened with substantial potential for growth.

Reviewing the positive outcomes of the high-level delegation visit to Brazil by the Ministry of Public Security of Viet Nam in July 2026, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung highlighted the successful signing of the Extradition Treaty and the Agreement on the Transfer of Sentenced Persons, while noting that both sides are actively working toward signing an agreement on preventing and combating human trafficking and illegal migration. He emphasized that these achievements have created new momentum and opened up promising prospects for cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two nations.

Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung wished that the Honorary Consul would continue leveraging her role as a vital bridge between Viet Nam and Brazil, contributing to the elevation of bilateral ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, supporting mutual efforts at multilateral forums, expanding dialogue mechanisms across various sectors, and maintaining a stable security environment for bilateral economic cooperation.

Additionally, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung requested the Honorary Consul’s continued support for the Ministry of Public Security of Viet Nam in strengthening connections with Brazilian law enforcement agencies in the State of Rio de Janeiro and with prospective football clubs in the region.

Expressing her sincere gratitude to Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung for the warm meeting, Ms. Marcelle Torres Alves Okuno shared her deep impression of Viet Nam’s remarkable socio-economic achievements in recent times and commended the positive strides in bilateral cooperation.

The Honorary Consul committed to continuing her role as a bridge to facilitate even more practical cooperation programs between the two sides, generating tangible benefits for both countries and making positive contributions to the Viet Nam–Brazil Strategic Partnership.
