
MPS honors public security coaches and athletes for outstanding achievements at 33rd SEA Games
The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a meeting to honor public security coaches and athletes with outstanding achievements at the 33rd SEA Games, on the afternoon of December 23, in Hanoi.

Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang, Chairman of the Public Security Sports Association, chaired the meeting.
The meeting also saw the presence of Member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung, and Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To.
At the 33rd SEA Games, the Public Security Sports Delegation comprised 50 coaches and athletes competing in 15 sport events.
After nearly two weeks of competition, public security athletes won a total of 27 medals, including 11 golds, 9 silvers and 7 bronzes.
At the event, leaders of the Ministry of Public Security presented Certificates of Merit to the coaches and athletes with outstanding performances at the 33rd SEA Games.
Speaking on behalf of the athletes, shooter Trinh Thu Vinh expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the MPS for their great care and consistent policies of investment and support for public security coaches and athletes, which have encouraged them to perform well domestically and internationally.
She promised to spare no effort to achieve further success in the time ahead.
Addressing the meeting, Minister Luong Tam Quang acknowledged and praised the coaches and athletes for their wholehearted dedication and contributions to the public security sport sector, saying that their achievements at the 33rd SEA Games clearly reflected the effectiveness of the sector’s training and coaching, as well as the perseverance and determination of each public security athlete.
The Minister expressed his hope that public security coaches and athletes would continue striving for greater achievements in the future.
On this occasion, Minister Luong Tam Quang proposed that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism invest more in the public security sport sector’s facilities for training and competing sports, creating the best possible environment and conditions for public security and athletes to train and achieve higher records at international sport tournaments.
