MPS rolls out 2026 work plan for Criminal Investigation Police Force

The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) convened a meeting to roll out the 2026 work plan of the Criminal Investigation Police Force, on January 14, in Hanoi.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long emphasized that, thanks to the comprehensive leadership of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the MPS as well as the close coordination of ministries, sectors, Party committees and local authorities, and the support of the people, the Criminal Investigation Police Force has overcome numerous difficulties and excellently fulfilled its tasks in crime prevention and control, contributing to safeguarding national security and maintaining social order and safety.

In 2025, the force proactively and comprehensively identified situations, methods and tactics of criminal activities in a timely manner, while carrying out anti-crime campaigns in a focused and targeted way. 

The force renovated its working methods of preventing crime, investigating and clearing criminal cases; as a result, the force could accelerate the investigation of cases, and basically met or surpassed the targets set by the National Assembly and the MPS.

Addressing the meeting on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the MPS leadership, Minister Luong Tam Quang highly appreciated and commended criminal investigation police units at all levels for their achievements attained in 2025.

Advocating for the orientations and key tasks of the force set out for 2026, the Minister stressed that the entire force should  always maintain a unified mindset regarding their official responsibility and services for development while making clear improvements in crime prevention. 

He required the force to take resolute and zero-tolerance action against the crimes that directly affect the peaceful and happy lives of the people.

The Minister underscored the importance of building strong and modern criminal investigation agencies at all levels, ensuring close coordination between the central level and local one, and providing more support for communal-level police units so they are fully capable of preventing and combating in the current situation.

He further directed the force to pay much attention to attacking all types of crime, particularly those disguised as legitimate enterprises, drug-related crimes, environmental crimes, street crimes and cyberfraud.

In the immediate period, Minister Luong Tam Quang urged the entire Criminal Investigation Police Force to effectively launch a comprehensive counter-crime campaign, contributing to ensuring security and order for the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term, the 2026 Lunar New Year Festival (Year of the Horse), as well as major national events and year-begining festivals.
