
Public Security Forces accelerate construction of homes for disaster-affected households in Gia Lai province
The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a ceremony to launch a 15-day lightening-speed phase of the “Quang Trung Campaign” with the aim of accelerating the construction of houses for victims of Storm No. 13 and its associated flooding in Gia Lai province on the morning of January 1, 2025.

Deputy Chief of the MPS Office Major General Nguyen Hong Nguyen chaired the ceremony.
Present at the event were Permanent Vice Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh and Director of the Gia Lai Provincial Police Department Major General Le Quang Nhan.
After one month since the “Quang Trung Campaign” started, the Gia Lai Provincial Police Department have completed and handed over 29 out of the 87 collapsed houses (accounting for 33.3%) to beneficiary families.
The remaining 58 houses are being built, and more than 80 percent of the construction has been finished. At present, nearly 1,000 officers and enlistees from local police units and agencies are joining the construction, with a strong sense of responsibility and high determination.
Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Le Quang Nhan affirmed the Gia Lai Provincial Police Department resolve to complete the building of all houses by January 10, 2026, 20 days ahead of the Government’s deadline.
Permanent Vice Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh commended the local police for their efforts and high sense of responsibility while building houses for storm-hit residents.
The official said, the provincial authorities called on all local agencies, organizations and armed forces to continue supporting the homeless families by stepping up the building and ensuring the quality of each project so that the beneficiaries can early receive a new safe home and stabilize their lives.
Delivering concluding remarks, Major General Nguyen Hong Nguyen emphasized that the “Quang Trung Campaign” carries profound human significance, reflecting the responsibility of the Public Security Forces in supporting the people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
He urged the involved forces to continue upholding the spirit of “urgency and effectiveness,” resolutely striving to complete the campaign successfully on schedule.
